Mkaa Bench – Three Seater

Sit back and admire your garden handiwork on our contemporary Mkaa garden bench. Part of our new collection in smart charcoal grey, it offers ample seating for three and makes a great statement piece for your favourite corner.

The dark neutral shade makes a perfect foil for green foliage and offers dramatic contrast against vivid bursts of colourful flora. It’s also timeless and versatile enough to work in both modern and traditional settings.

The bench is sustainably produced from moisture and insect-repellent eucalyptus, with a two-stage finishing process providing extra long-lasting protection.

The charcoal colour stain is applied with a light touch to let the wood grain show through, and followed by a coat of high-grade wood preservation oil.

Absorbed deep into the wood, the oil increases resistance to harsh weather, moisture and mould. To maintain the protection, we recommend a 3-6 monthly reapplication of a high-quality wood oil at home.

In extremes of heat or very changeable weather, sheltering the bench when not in use and applying oil more frequently will help prevent surface cracks in the wood.

Lightly sand the bench first with P240 grade sandpaper then apply the oil using a brush, clean cloth or spray gun. Leave it to absorb for 10-15 minutes, and sand to finish with a fine grade 400 grit sandpaper.

Safety and Care Advice

To extend the product life and appearance it is advisable to store the furniture in a cool dry place over winter or during periods of unseasonal weather. Ensure that the furniture is clean and completely dry before putting into storage. Do not enclose the product in a plastic or other non-permeable material as this promotes the growth of mildew and mould. Cover it with a dust sheet or furniture cover, allowing air to circulate around it.

Clean regularly with a very mild warm soapy solution to remove dirt and grease and acidic animal droppings. Avoid strong detergents or pressure washers, which may damage the paint finish.

You may experience some minor surface cracking as the timber expands and contracts with changes of humidity, but this will not affect the structural performance of your furniture.

IMPORTANT:

• Never drag furniture when moving it, always lift it.
• Periodically check all fixings to ensure none have come loose and re-tighten where necessary.
• Take care when handling or moving furniture as careless handling may cause damage or injury.
• Ensure that the furniture is always on a solid and level surface and the legs are in contact with the ground at all times.
• DO NOT use benches as a ladder, stand or jump on benches or sit on the back of benches.
• Our benches are designed for domestic garden use and not for public seating such as street or park furniture.
